Tangy yet light, loaded with probiotics, and extremely satisfying. Many of us at Brookford Farm name the yogurt as our favorite product. We use it not only for breakfast, but in sauces, soups, marinades, and for baking. It’s mild enough to be eaten plain, but is also great with fruit, honey, nuts, and cereals. Available in both whole fat and low fat.
An extra strained version of our low-fat yogurt, our greek yogurt is amazingly thick and packed with protein. Available in plain and maple-vanilla.
Buttermilk and Kefir
These cultured beverages are rich in probiotic microflora. Both come from low-fat milk, but are cultured under different conditions. Kefir is made from a symbiotic culture of yeasts and bacteria. Our cultured buttermilk is made using the liquid left behind when we churn our cream to butter. Both are wonderfully tart and great for keeping a healthy gut.
Brookford Farm butter, like all our dairy products, comes from grass-fed milk. Its natural golden color reflects the cows’ diet of legumes and grasses, which are high in beta-carotene, vitamin A, and vitamin E. Supply is limited, and butter is often reserved for our CSA members.
